With its uncrowded and sandy locale, Moonee Beach is one of the longest beaches in the region extending between the Look At Me Now headland - a great place for whale watching in winter and birdwatching in spring - and the southern Green Bluff.
Moonee Beach is flanked by nearby Sapphire and Emerald beaches and is connected by coastal walks taking in historic sites and scenic views with landscapes bursting with flora and fauna.
At its southern end, Moonee Creek is a pristine estuary popular for kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Moonee Beach Nature Reserve, where Moonee Creek meets Moonee Beach, is rich in wildlife and a tranquil setting with several recreational facilities and amenities including a playground, beach showers, picnic shelters and barbeques, making it a popular area for locals and visitors alike.
